Brown under pressure on Saudi Arabia arms deal
The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has been urged to reopen its inquiry into a £43bn BAE arms deal with Saudi Arabia.
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said the investigation, which was suspended in 2006, must be allowed to continue.
The High Court ruled that the SFO acted unlawfully by dropping the corruption inquiry into the al-Yamamah deal. BAE maintains it acted lawfully.
BBC News political correspondent James Hardy said it remained possible that the High Court would tell the SFO to reactivate the inquiry.
On Thursday judges said the decision to halt the inquiry represented an "abject surrender" to pressure from a foreign government.
Lord Justice Moses said that the SFO and the government had given into "blatant threats" that Saudi co-operation in the fight against terror would end unless the probe into corruption was halted.

Ex-Bush Iran official: US seeks pretext for conflict with Iran
From the page: "A former top Bush administration official for Persian Gulf affairs has said in an interview this morning on CNN that the US may be trying to spark a conflict with Iran.
Hillary Mann is the former National Security Council Director for Iranian and Persian Gulf Affairs. She warned in the interview that the recent flare up between Iran and the US over the former's alleged assistance to Shi'a militias results from a US desire to provoke conflict with the Iranians.
"They're trying to push a provocative, accidental conflict," Mann said.
She added that the administration hopes to goad Iran into an overreaction so that it can have justification to carry out "limited strikes" against nuclear infrastructure and Revolutionary Guards headquarters buildings in Iran."

Bush spoiling for a fight with Iran
From the page: "US officials in Baghdad and Washington are expected to unveil a secret intelligence "dossier" this week detailing evidence of Iran's alleged complicity in attacks on American troops in Iraq. The move, uncomfortably echoing Downing Street's dossier debacle in the run-up to the 2003 Iraq invasion, is one more sign that the Bush administration is building a case for war."
Yep, link this in with the story below and we got ourselves another pointless war, hopefully people will stand up and say NO, maybe even the troops? And if they still don't listen, perhaps we need to be firmer with our "No"s!!
