Exam Cheats To Be Tackled With CCTV Cameras In Exam Halls
From the page: "Exam cheats could soon be found out with the introduction of CCTV cameras.
The Examination Officers' Association is planning to test the idea in a few centres - and the move could also protect invigilators from students' complaints.
EOA chief executive Andrew Harland said using the technology could help to root out exam cheats while protecting both invigilators and students.
He said: "Let's not wait another six months to ask if this is a problem - I see the stress growing on my colleagues' faces.""

Poole council spies on family over school claim
From the page: "A council has used powers intended for anti-terrorism surveillance to spy on a family who were wrongly accused of lying on a school application form.
For two weeks the middle-class family was followed by council officials who wanted to establish whether they had given a false address within the catchment area of an oversubscribed school to secure a place for their three-year-old.

The council logged the family's actions in detail- click to enlarge
The "spies" made copious notes on the movements of the mother and her three children, who they referred to as "targets" as they were trailed on school runs. The snoopers even watched the family home at night to establish where they were sleeping.
In fact, the 39-year-old mother - who described the snooping as "a grotesque invasion of privacy" - had held lengthy discussions with the council, which assured her that her school application was totally in order.
Poole borough council disclosed that it had legitimately used the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) to spy on the family."

Egomaniac Thug Cop Assaults 14 Year Old Kid
Egomaniac Thug Cop Assaults 14 Year Old Kid Don't call him "dude" or he may "kill you"
Is it a man? Is it a dude? No, it's officer Rivieri of the Baltimore Police Department who is the latest small membered thug cop to believe that it is his duty to go around bullying and wrestling discipline into innocent children. Unfortunately for this PC podge, he is also the latest cop caught on camera and made famous by Youtube."

Washington abuzz with talk of dragonfly spies
From the page: "Some suspect the insect-like drones are high-tech surveillance tools, perhaps for the Department of Homeland Security.
No agency admits to having deployed insect-size spy drones, though several US Government departments say they are trying. But several federally funded teams are growing live insects with computer chips in them, with the aim of mounting spyware on their bodies."

Epidemic Of Police Brutality Sweeps America
An epidemic of violence is sweeping the country. Police are being trained that the general public are the enemy and that they can engage in outright brutality without recourse. Taser deaths are skyrocketing because the police have been ordered to use "pain compliance", otherwise known as torture, to subdue and oppress the citizenry. It is time for police to remember that their duty is to protect the general public from criminals and not act as enforcers for a tyrannical police state.

All UK must be on DNA database
The whole population and every UK visitor should be added to the national DNA database, a senior judge has said.
Lord Justice Sedley said the current England and Wales database of 4m people's DNA - whether convicted or acquitted - was "indefensible".
He added it would be fairer to include "everybody, guilty or innocent" on it.
Downing Street said the database helped tackle crime, but there were no plans for a voluntary national or compulsory universal database.
A spokesman for Prime Minister Gordon Brown said to expand it would create "huge logistical and bureaucratic issues" and civil liberty concerns.

Pentagon to implant microchips in soldiers brains
From the page: "The Department of Defense is planning to implant microchips in soldiers' brains for monitoring their health information, and has already awarded a $1.6 million contract to the Center for Bioelectronics, Biosensors and Biochips (C3B) at Clemson University for the development of an implantable "biochip".
Soldiers fear that the biochip, about the size of a grain of rice, which measures and relays information on soldiers vital signs 24 hours a day, can be used to put them under surveillance even when they are off duty.
The biochip also may be injected as a precaution to future traumas
The researcher predicts the biochip is five years away from human trials, and the DoD could start implanting microchips in soldiers bodies soon after."
'Precaution to future traumas' they say? Hmm. That will convince me.
